Philly Forests is a small farm in Northwest Philadelphia with a mission to diversify our local food system. We are a social enterprise that takes revenue from crop sales to enhance Philadelphia's ecosystem. We buy trees, shrubs, and perennial plants for free distribution to areas with
the city's lowest tree-canopy.

Support Sustainable

Our Farm uses sustainable and regenerative growing practices to align with nature's way of producing food.

We utilize our ecosystem to enhance crop growth, highlighting natural fertilizers and compost for soil fortification, native plants and wildflowers for pollinator attraction (and great pest managers), and leaves or straw for natural mulch.

We hope to be your household's local farmer for 2022!

Diversify Philadelphia Ecosystem

In Philadelphia, you will notice that wealthier and white neighborhoods are very green with tree-lined streets, while lower-income, BIPOC-populated neighborhoods are bare with scorching summer sun.

At Philly Forests, we have a strong commitment to promoting Philadelphia's urban forestry and ecology; we aim to repopulate low-canopy areas with trees, shrubs, and perennial plants of all species.
